Lincoln Town Hall - Thank You and Meeting Materials

Dear Lincoln Families,

On Wednesday, Feb. 26, the District 97 administrative team hosted a town hall at Lincoln School that was attended by more than 100 parents, staff and community members. I appreciated the opportunity to share some of the work we have been doing over the past few weeks to support the school, and I want to sincerely thank everyone who participated for taking the time to listen, ask questions and share feedback.

I opened the meeting with a brief presentation based on some of the common questions and concerns that have been raised since the resignation of Principal Zaniolo on Jan. 29. We then welcomed Reesheda Graham-Washington of RGW Consulting, LLC, who has been working with the district to conduct an after action review at Lincoln. Ms. Graham-Washington plans to deliver a full report to the administration and board of education in March, but she was able to share some initial impressions Wednesday based on her interviews with more than 25 members of the Lincoln community. Both presentations, along with an audio recording of the meeting, can be accessed by clicking the links below.

I want to acknowledge that the presentation I shared Wednesday included incorrect spelling of Ms. Zaniolo’s name on two slides. I am very sorry for this error.

Finally, I want to say again how deeply grateful I am for the support that continues to be demonstrated every day for the students and staff at Lincoln. There is important work to be done as we move forward as a school community, and we are committed to keeping you informed and engaged throughout the process. Unfortunately, time constraints limited our conversation at Wednesday's town hall, however I am currently working to identify dates for future meetings with staff members and families. I will share those details as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please continue to reach out to our team via email or Let’s Talk. Thank you again for your support.

Sincerely,

Dr. Carol Kelley
Superintendent
