My name is Lauren Giorango, and I am excited to continue serving as the school nurse at Hatch this year. This will be my fifth year at Hatch, and prior to that, I spent two years at Percy Julian Middle School, also within District 97.

A little about me—I have lived in Oak Park my whole life with my husband, and we are raising our four children here as well. Our kids attend Longfellow Elementary School, Oak Park and River Forest High School (one junior and one freshman), and our oldest is currently attending University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. We also have a big, lovable (and very hairy!) dog who keeps us busy.

My clinical nursing background includes medical/surgical telemetry, wound care, and orthopedic nursing. I feel very fortunate to be part of the Hatch community and to support our students and families.

My goal as your school nurse is to partner with families and staff to promote a healthy, safe school environment where all students can thrive and be successful learners. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or updates regarding your child’s health—I am always happy to help.
