D97 Middle School Career Exploration Days: Volunteers Needed!

Dear D97 Community,

As we head into the second half of the school year, the D97 Career Exploration Committee is excited to share an opportunity for students to explore their futures. Our Career Exploration Days (CED), are designed to spark curiosity and introduce students to a range of career paths.

We will host one half-day event at each of our middle schools on different dates, allowing all of our D97 Middle School students the opportunity to participate in this meaningful activity.

Julian CED

  • Date: Wednesday, April 22, 2026
  • Time: 12 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Location: Percy Julian Middle School

Brooks CED

  • Date: Thursday, April 23, 2026
  • Time: 12 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
  • Location: Gwendolyn Brooks Middle School

Parents and community volunteers make our Career Exploration Days possible. Your stories, expertise, and willingness to share your path help students see new possibilities—and themselves—in futures they may not have imagined yet.

We invite you to join us as a presenter and speak directly to our middle school students about your career, industry, and personal journey. Each presentation session will be approximately 35 minutes in length, structured as follows:

  • 3 minutes – Attendance and introduction
  • 12 minutes – Presentation about your career and industry
  • 15 minutes – Interactive activity
  • 5 minutes –  Q&A session

Sharing your experiences can make a lasting impact, helping students discover new interests and gain a deeper understanding of the working world.

Click here if you are interested in participating in one or both of these events.

Thank you for considering being part of this special opportunity to shape how our students discover the working world and dream about what’s ahead.

With appreciation,

D97 Career Exploration Committee
