Emily Tague
Art Teacher
I started teaching at Irving during the 2008-2009 school year and love it! I graduated from Northern Illinois University in December 2007 with a degree in Art Education and in May 2012 earned my Masters of Art Education from Boston University.
Every student is an artist and in my classroom I strive to give them the freedom to make their own decisions about their artwork as they are learning different skills and techniques. One of my favorite things about teaching art is getting to work with a wide variety of art media in the classroom. I am always blown away by the creative ideas they come up with throughout the year.
I live in Oak Park with my husband and two kids. My favorite art materials to work with are clay, painting, printmaking and fiber arts. Besides art, I love to read, take walks with my family and do yoga.
