Katie Noonan: Teacher Librarian
Hi! My name is Katie Noonan and I am the teacher-librarian at Irving. I teach every student in the school...which is a lot! I enjoy watching all the Irving Eagles grow from kindergarten to 5th grade. This will be my 13th year as the TL at Irving. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am a HUGE Wisconsin Badger fan and would love to chat about football or basketball anytime. After I graduated from UW, I moved to Chicago and taught 1st and 2nd grade for 5 years. I took a couple of years off to get my masters degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (but I did NOT become an Illini fan). I feel so lucky to have ended up in Oak Park at Irving School. I love Irving and am very involved in extra-curriculars and events. I live in Chicago's West Loop and spend my time hanging out with friends, reading, watching sports, going to or traveling to the beach, and spoiling my three amazing nieces.
Please visit the Irving Library Webpage for all library information and events.
