Dear Julian Families,
It is with mixed emotions that I am writing to share that I have accepted a superintendent position in Komarek School District 94 in North Riverside. The District 94 Board of Education is expected to approve my appointment during a special meeting this evening, effective July 1, 2020.
Although I will miss the relationships I have established in the Julian community, my family and I are excited about the opportunities and challenges this new position will bring.
I am grateful to have served as the principal of Julian Middle School for the past eight years, and have thoroughly enjoyed working with my colleagues, families and community stakeholders to support the academic and emotional needs of our students. All of my experiences in Oak Park have helped me grow both personally and professionally and have prepared me to take this next step in my career as an educational leader.
District 97 is currently exploring the options that are available for filling my position, and I am committed to supporting that individual as they transition into our school. The district will keep you updated on the status of those efforts moving forward.
Finally, I want to thank you for all the support you have provided our students, teachers, and my administrative team over the past eight years. While I am looking forward to starting this next chapter, I am going to miss being part of this incredible school community.
