Becky Ward
6th Grade English Language Arts Teacher
I began my career in education twenty years ago. In that time, I taught both middle and high school students from 6th to 12th grade.
I also worked for many years as a curriculum developmer and instructional coach for Facing History and Ourselves, an international education nonprofit. In this role, I taught seminars to DePaul University College of Education students and led a partnership pilot with the Good Participation Project at Harvard University's Graduate School of Education.
I am certified in both Social Studies and English Language Arts for middle and high school students. My formal education includes:
- Bachelor of Arts - University of Michigan
- Concentration: English and History
- Master of Arts in Education - University of Michigan
- Concentration: Social Justice Education
I am a Detroit-area native, but have called Oak Park my home for more than a decade.
