Erica Childress

My name is Erica Childress and I have been an early childhood educator for over 20 years. Prior to joining the Hatch Family, I worked as a K/1 teacher in the Chicago Public Schools. For the past 17 years, I have proudly educated students and families throughout Oak Park as a K-3 teacher and Student Support Specialist.

I hold a Dual Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Art History from Erikson Institute of Early Child Development and Columbia College, Chicago. I also have two Master of Education Degrees from Concordia University in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership.

In 2017 I earned recognition as a National Board-Certified Teacher in the field of early childhood education.

When I am not working with young children and families, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and visiting new restaurants, while exploring our beautiful city.
