Michael Sorensen

1st Grade Teacher

After receiving my bachelors degree from Columbia College Chicago I decided to take a job as a a teaching assistant at Longfellow. After two years of working at Longfellow I realized teaching was becoming a passion of mine. I enrolled at Concordia University Chicago to work on getting my Masters of  Arts in Teaching.  Three years later(of classes) and five total years of working at Longfellow I had my degree and applied for a teaching position at Longfellow. I was so lucky to be hired as a teacher at Longfellow and I am loving my first year in first grade. I grew up in Oak Park with my parents and two sisters and I love working in and giving back to a community that shaped me and gave me so much as a child growing up.
