6th grade humanities and arts and culture students work together to publish a book called Celebration Time!

Students in Mrs. Murray's and Mrs. Williams's classes used found/unwanted objects and turned them into one-of-a-kind works of decorative and functional art, which was showcased at The Bottle Rocket Gallery.

A group of 24 students from Mrs. Frick's science classes participated in the club, raising the trout from eggs and then releasing them into their natural habitat.

Students enriched their understanding of the Civil War with many in-depth projects, like the Battle of Gettsyburg simulation game.

Mrs. Swick's Integrated Studies hosted a "Walk for Water" to bring water to Shanzu Village, Kenya. Over 60 people, including students and their families, walked to support the cause, raising $350.

The club supported many good causes this year, including OPRF Food Pantry, Kids’ Kloset, Holiday Food and Gift Basket program, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Misericordia, and West Suburban PADS.

The program exposes students to several aspects of police work, including report writing, interview skills, criminal law, physical fitness, and evidence collection.

The GBMS boys and girls volleyball programs had very successful seasons, and the best season the boys program has had in its entire existence.

The Track & Field Team recently wrapped up its season at the IESA State Championships in Peoria, IL, capping a strong season of growth and accomplishment.

The 100 cast and crew members performed over 3 weekends with 6 of the 8 performances being completely sold out!

Best Buddies is an international organization that focuses on bringing social inclusion and social opportunities to students with special needs.

The primary purpose of this two-day evaluation visit is to identify the progress that has taken place at Brooks since we became an IB candidate school.

The next phase of PARCC testing will begin during the last week of April, and there will not be a scheduled Spring MAP test this year.

Our use of Canvas is continuing to allow students to access course content electronically, turn in work via the iPad, collaborate with classmates, create content to show their understanding and communicate with classmates and staff.

IB Students of the Month

In an effort to deepen our understanding of the 10 IB Learner Profile Traits, every month each team of teachers nominates a maximum of two students to honor as the IB Student of the Month.

Officer Collins is the Student Resource Officer at Brooks Middle School and was selected as the sole D97 representative in the educational service personnel category for the Those Who Excel Awards.
